Our classes are designed to keep participants interested, motivated, and energized. Workouts are intended to increase power, speed and conditioning through shadow boxing, heavy bag work, mitt drills, jump rope while strengthening your body and increasing cardiovascular endurance, muscle tone, core conditioning and balance.

Who We Are

At Full Moon Martial Arts, we were Kentuckian's first Parkinson's Program and remain its premier center dedicated to helping those fighting the fight as well as working with their family to be an all-around support system.


Bringing this program to the Kentuckiana areas of Clarksville, New Albany, Jeffersonville, and Louisville. We offer many options for classes and payment options Our mission is to provide an effective form of physical exercise to people who are living with Parkinson’s. Though it may seem surprising, this boxing-inspired fitness routine is dramatically improving the ability of people with Parkinson’s to live independent lives that are happier, healthier, and full of hope. Full Moon Martial Arts and its staff exist to empower people to fight back against Parkinson’s. There is a FIGHT in all of us!

What We Do

We enable people with Parkinson’s disease to fight their disease by providing non-contact boxing-style fitness programs that improve their quality of life and sense of efficacy and self-worth. Recent studies also suggest that intense exercise programs may be “neuro-protective,” actually working to delay the progression of symptoms. Our program provides encouragement through a “tough love” approach, inspiring maximum effort, speed, strength, balance, and flexibility. Boxing works by moving your body in all planes of motion while continuously changing the routine as you progress through the workout. Our classes have proven that anyone, at any level of Parkinson’s can actually lessen their symptoms and lead a healthier and happier life.

Non-contact boxing-inspired classes can slow, stop, or reverse the progression of Parkinson's. We offer this program to seniors and anyone with rehab and neurological concerns.

Parkinson's disease is a degenerative movement disorder that can cause deterioration of motor skills, balance, speech, and sensory function. In this program, exercises are largely adapted from boxing drills. Boxers train for optimal agility, speed, muscular endurance, accuracy, hand-eye coordination, footwork, and overall strength to defend against and overcome opponents. Parkinson's disease is the opponent.


This class's exercises vary in purpose and form but share one common trait: they are rigorous and intended to extend the perceived capabilities of the participant.

 

We are learning every day that there are ways in which people with Parkinson's disease can enhance their quality of life and even build strength, flexibility, and speed! By exercising with coaches who know the ropes, you can fight your way out of the corner and start to feel and function better.

 

These classes have proven that anyone at any level of Parkinson's can lessen their symptoms and lead a healthier and happier life. Full Moon Martial Arts offer the premier Parkinson's program. We offer classes to students living with Parkinson's with day and evening classes.

Boxing Conditioning for Women

Cardio Kickboxing is our main focus. It is a fun way to burn calories and build lean muscle, and we can help with your fitness goals in other ways!

 

Join us at Full Moon Martial Arts Arts when you're ready to get in the best shape of your life and have fun doing it. We combine boxing workouts with strength and conditioning routines for a great total body and cardio workout. We will work with you to ensure you reach and maintain your fitness goals no matter your fitness level. We constantly switch up the training routines to challenge your body.

Boxing

Our Program provides girls and boys between the ages of 9 and 14 with a conditioning workout, learning boxing fundamentals, and developing valuable life skills, self-discipline, and mental focus.

 

Classes are an hour and a half long and are open to youth of all skill and fitness levels. Participants will work on conditioning, core strength, footwork, focus mitts, and heavy bags.

 

Boxing creates a discipline of mental and physical fitness. Students will develop self-discipline, respect for themselves and others, and understand the importance of being a team and encouraging others to succeed.
